About
About Dale
I nurture the conditions for life to thrive and evolve. Over the last 25 years, that has involved climate action and the energy transition. My coaching is currently focused on supporting professionals in climate and related sectors navigate transitions in their own internal energy and how that shows up in their work and life.
In addition to growing the Community Energy Association team from 3 to 50 and leading the coaching and mentoring of them, I led national collaborations of non-profits focused on climate mitigation, developed collaboration across foundations to support national programs including unified reporting, and fundamentally shifted how communities and utilities approach climate action in Canada. Before leading CEA I led private and public sector IT and corporate strategy projects for 10 years at Deloitte Consulting. I also founded the Vancouver chapter of the volunteer BC Sustainable Energy Association and conceived of and formed a coalition of 30 non-profits in Metro Vancouver.
I am an experienced coach and mentor having:
- Conceived of, structured, and led the coaching for over 100 adaptation and mitigation professionals across Canada
- Coached and mentored dozens of private sector and non-profit staff and leaders informally over 25 years
- Coached dozens of professionals through career transitions
- Invested in my own training through
- Masters level counselling psychology courses,
- Thousands of dollars in various kinds of counselling
- Hundreds of books on human development and how we work as human beings
- Adept at multiple forms of meditation, contemplation and mindfulness
- Experienced in somatic practices, polyvagal theory, and collaboration with our nervous systems
